WHAT´S THE BEST AGE TO GET STUDENTS INTO TECHNOLOGY?

Well, I think that the best age to get students into technology is when they are children, when they are in kindergarden or in primary school, because that is the age when they are developing their four macro skills and they are like a sponge that absorb everything they see or do. At that age students learn too fast, they learn how to use a program, how to use a computer, how to type, etc. It is also good to know that there are some good programs for students to learn by playing a game, reading an interactive book, drawing, or checking some interactive web pages or watching some movies that will help our students to develop a little bit more. Some people think that the new generations have to be uptaded with all the new tools that technology offers and everything but I think that if students learn for example how to surf in the internet in their early years they can become addicted to it and it is not going to be something good for them. Our parents were not used to use a computer, they used to do all the job in schools by hand such as: drawing, writing, etc. or when they had to look for more information for a homework, they used to go to the libraries and read as much as they could. I am not saying that that is the way it has to continue but our students have become lazies sometimes and they prefer to surf in the internet, look for information and then copy and paste. Nowadays, it looks like if stidents have forgotten about the books and trust only in the information they can find in the internet. I know that the information that we can find in a book is outdated sometimes but it sometimes is good. I think that if we let our studentts get involved into technology at any age it will always have it pros and cons. It is important to know that if we get students into technology do it in the right way in order to help them and not to destroy them making them lazies, procratinators, etc. As teachers we have to know that the new generations have to be updated with technology but giving it the right usage.

PROS AND CONS BETWEEN REGULAR AND ONLINE CLASSES

Today, we have the possibility of having an online class and not just the class we regularly have in a classroom with a White board, many desks, a teacher writing or posting some charts, etc. Nowadays almost everyone has a computer at home or uses one at school or university, etc. having an online class is not a problem nowadays but as always this type of class has it´s pros and cons. Lets see what are the pros and cons we can find in online and regular clases. Online clases: In this type of clases students have the opportunity of surfing in the web and learning about many educational programs. They can learn more about technology because they are using it and they can investigate more about a topic that is not clear enough by Reading articles, watching videos and surfing in other web pages. The cons I can find in this type of clases are that these type of clases are that students are not interacting with other people in a physical way, they sometimes can have some video calls as a homework but it is not the same as being with some classmates in a classroom, another problem is that there could be a problem with the internet connection and sometimes it can be difficult to have a class, to undrstand it or to finish a homework, I think that when we are learning something new we sometimes have many doubts and questions and in an online class is kind of difficult to clarify them. Regular clases: In regular clases the student have the opportunity of interact with their classmates and with the teacher, they can clarify their doubts and use the whiteboard. regular clases are less boring and if you have a presentation you do it in front of your classmates and you learn how to control your nerves. Sometimes regular clases are boring an has its cons but it depends on where it is carried out because sometimes teachers have to teach in some schools with just a whiteboard and a chart, sometimes in sme places people do not have Access to technology and regular clases become boring. In my opinión, regular clases are better but if we have all the neccesary material and technology resources.

How can we use these different tool in our lesson plan.

It is really important to be updated nowadays with the new things that have been created and are going to be created, and that will also help us in our lesson plan. As teachers, sometimes we stay only with what we have been taught and we do not try to investigate and learn about new tools such as: Mind42, Youthink, Brainshark, mailvu and World google. The tool mind 42 is a really useful one because with it we can insert as many images as we want, URls links, and we can also add notes to some branches, etc. This can help us to have a more interactive class, stdents won´t get bored, they will be adding images, links and learning some others things. Another important tool is yothink in which you can make quizes, have fórums, you can also ask and answer questions to your students, this tool is funny and interesting. I think this tool is important for students to develop their macroskills. With this tool students are going to be happy of being studying. Brainshark is another important tool for the teacher and for the students because with this tool is easy to create or upload video presentations, with this tool they will definetely develop their four mach¿roskills. This tool gives you the oportunity of writing, Reading, listening and speaking. Its so good to know that there are many tools that are really hepful for our students nowadays, there is any excuse to say that we cannot learn english because we do not have other strategies. Finally I can talk about mailvu and world google. Mailvu is an easy online video recording, video email, and video sharing that can be used in the lesson plan and World google is a really useful tool in which we can get information all aver the world. Mailvu is really nice because you can create your own videos too and the most important thing is that it is private. This tool would be good not only for englsh students but also for business administration students due to the fact that it helps you to create your own logo, to have yur video presentations about a business or something else. To finish this blo I can say that we do not stop learning, everyday there is something new to learn and sometthing new to discover. Our teachers need to be surfing in the internet in order to find the best ways for our students to learn more and to develop their four macro skills.

Advantages and disadvantages of using Youtube.

I think we all know what is YouTube already, and we can say that it is a web page where we can find thousands o videos related to many purposes, they can be about politics, education, entertaintment, etc. Using yotube can hhave its advantages and disadvantages and we are going to list them down: Advantages of YouTube- Fast and easy video sharing Privacy features Quick access to various videos Safe browsing Easy rating and feedback system. Disadvantages of YouTube- No parental controls Limited copyright infringment notices Video length is limited to 10 minutes No restriction on comments (language, violent threats) Video size is limited sometimes. easy acces to pornography. It is a good tool for our students nowadays because there are infinity of things they can find and be useful to enrich their vocaulary, to complete a homework assignment or understand a topic in a better way. I think it is important that parents are alert of what their children are looking for in YouTube because there are videos that are not good or educative for ur children and youth. If we make a good usage of this tool, it is going to help us a lot to have a better education or to relax sometimes that we just want to watch a funny video or just listening to music.

"How to use hot potatoes with kids, teenagers and adults"

Hot Potatoes is an amazing tool we can use with kids because it has different activities such as matching, fill in the blanks activities, and these activities are not too difficult for them unless the teacher gives them activities that are not according to their level. Using this type of tool with kids helps the kids to be motivated and to learn more, it will be an interactive way of test children. The way we can use this tool with teenagers is for example with the activities such as: jmix and jcross because their knowledge is higher than the kids, we can make a Reading comprehension test but according to their level, the Reading cannot be longer and it does not need to have too many questions. Using this tool with adults is different because adults have a higher level of knowledge and as teachers we know that we can tlak about different topics in a Reading comprehension test for example, we can have a lot of ativities because we can use all the different tolos that this tool provides. I can conclude saying that the use of this tool and its good results at the time of using it or evaluating students will depend on the use and the activities the teacher gives to it because this tool can be used with all different levels but with the right activities because not all the activities fit for all the students.
